Trivia sections are allowed on all pages, as a way of providing information that is relevant to the subject but not appropriate for the main section article. However, there are rules for what is and is not trivia.
Trivia entries should be listed as bullet points.
The following is considered as trivia:
- Major cast connections — For instance, "Bishop actor Lance Henriksen is almost certainly the most prolific figure in the Alien franchise. As well as Bishop, he portrayed Michael Bishop in Alien3 and Charles Bishop Weyland in Alien vs. Predator, and also lent his voice and likeness to the characters of Karl Bishop Weyland and another Bishop android in the video games Aliens vs. Predator and Aliens: Colonial Marines, respectively." However, tenuous links are not allowed.
- Unrealised appearances — For instance, "In William Gibson's unproduced script for Alien3, Hicks and Bishop became the series' main characters in lieu of Ripley, and they, along with another group of Colonial Marines, are involved in a Xenomorph outbreak on a massive space station, where the Aliens are being bred and studied for use as a bio-weapon. The screenplay ended with a cliffhanger setting up a fourth movie that would take place on Earth. The script was eventually rejected, although it is widely available to read online."
- Noteworthy references within the franchise — For instance, "Hudson's distinctive dagger/skull/crossbones armor design appeared on the icon for the "State of the Badass Art" trophy/achievement in Aliens: Colonial Marines."
The following is not considered to be trivia:
- External references - References made to the subject in outside media are not allowed in the trivia section, and should instead be placed on one of the pages dedicated to this information.
- Goofs - Goofs or mistakes should not be mentioned in the trivia section, but should go in one of the appropriate goofs articles.
Some trivia points can often be incorporated into a "Behind the Scenes" section. However, if the trivia point is brief and there is no "Behind the Scenes" section on the page, it should be placed in "Trivia". Also, trivia should never be more than three sentences long.
