Requests for Adminship (RFAs), are requests for users to be granted Administrator positions on Xenopedia. As Xenopedia's community size and article count grows, more Admins may be required to maintain its operation, as well as replace Administrators who have become inactive.

RFAs can be closed early if current Administrators see that the candidate has little chance of success, but only an Admin may do this. Requests may also be withdrawn at the request of the nominee or the person who nominated them.

As noted, RFAs can only be done during times where more Admins are needed and/or if inactive Admins need replacing; when this happens, current Admins will let the Xenopedia community know via a blog or message.

Requirements

All nominees must fit the following requirements before nomination. If a nominee does not fit the requirements, an Administrator may close the nomination immediately.

  • At least 1,500 total edits.
  • Having been an active member for at least 6 months.
  • No history of vandalism, abuse or of blocking on the basis of harassment or personal attacks.
  • They have demonstrated they are willing to take on additional responsibilities to make the community better.
  • They have demonstrated an understanding of the community's methods of operation.

Procedures

If you are eligible to become an Admin and are willing to take on the responsibilities, simply leave a message on the Talk Page of an active Admin with the heading "RFA". Your RFA will be reviewed and, within a few days, an Admin will inform you if your request was accepted or denied. If a blog is created by the Administration team especially for RFAs, then candidates should post their requests there.
