The XM99A1 Phased Plasma Pulse Rifle was a long–range prototype plasma–based rifle manufactured by Armat Battlefield Systems and used by the United States Colonial Marine Corps.

The XM99A1 was an evolution of the original XM99A Phased Plasma Pulse Rifle, and was virtually identical to its predecessor. After several years of field trials and improvements, the XM99A1 could be be fired in semi–automatic or full–automatic modes without requiring a full charge. Moreover, when extra firepower was required, the rifle was capable of delivering a continuous overloaded blast, doling out serious damage to everything in its path; however, this ability rendered the weapon inoperable for several seconds.[1]
Notable users[]
As an experimental weapon, the XM99A1 saw limited use within the United States Colonial Marine Corps. As of 2198, it was available to Marines stationed aboard the USS Otago.

The XM99A1 Phased Plasma Pulse Rifle appears in Aliens: Dark Descent and can be purchased from the workshop in exchange for 300 materials. However, it can only be used by Level 10 Marines.
