The X43 Barrage Flechette SMG, alternately referred to as the Barrage, was an experimental submachine gun manufactured by Armat Battlefield Systems and used by the Colonial Marines Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Service and the United States Colonial Marine Corps during the 22nd century.

Manufactured by Armat Battlefield Systems, the X43 Barrage Flechette SMG was part of a new line of weapons commissioned specifically for the Colonial Marines Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Service independently of other Armat projects.
Overview[]
The X43 Barrage Flechette SMG boasted an incredibly high rate of fire while managing to counterbalance the resultant recoil and maintain its accuracy. Owing to its lightweight flechette ammunition, the Barrage could be effective even through dense atmosphere and liquid mediums, and was capable of penetrating armor. Those attributes made the Barrage one of the most accurate SMGs in production, and it was nicknamed "Nailgun" by the few user with clearance to carry it in the field.[1]
Notable users[]
Originally manufactured in 2195 for the CMISRS, the Barrage also saw a limited deployment with the United States Colonial Marine Corps.[1]

The X43 Barrage Flechette SMG appears in Aliens: Fireteam Elite and can be obtained via a random drop by finishing a mission in Standard difficulty. It can be equipped by Gunner, Technician, Phalanx, Recon and Lancer classes.
