"Unfamiliar floral forms...To us, but perfectly normal to this bio-sphere and -- uhm."
""Uhm," Wearing?"
"Toxic. I mean completely toxic. We're going to starve.
Wearing describing LV-223s atmosphere to Humble (from Prometheus: Life and Death)

Corporal Wearing was a member of the United States Colonial Marine Corps. She was part of a 31-Marine platoon under the command of Captain Paget, aboard the combat ship Hasdrubal that landed on the planet LV-797, kick-starting a massive series of events that led to an all out battle for survival against a clan of Yautja, mutated Xenomorphs and the godlike Engineers.

Skirmish on Tartarus[]

Wearing was part of the combat ship Hasdrubal on a mission to prosecute any potential illegal prospectors on the planet LV-797, nicknamed Tartarus. The Hasdrubal was serving the interests of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, which had scheduled the planet for terraforming.

After the Marines landed on Tartarus, they were soon attacked by a clan of Yautja, resulting in the killing of several search parties.

Paget decided to send Sergeant Roth and his team, consisting of Wearing, Jhalil, Freebody, Rucker, Singer, Indelicato and Schrader into one of their dropships to fly over to the Juggernaut and secure the interior, whilst Paget's team approached the vessel by foot, attempting to sweep the forest using M314 Motion Trackers to flush out the hunters.

After being ambushed by the Elder Cracked Tusk Predator, the squad continued on foot into the vessel's interior, with Roth ordering Wearing and Indelicato to activate their trackers. They eventually found the cockpit, containing a sarcophagus-like object. Singer suggested that he would be able to get the ship operational and have the ship leave Tartarus and abandon the Predators, and managed to lift the vessel. The Cracked Tusk Predator suddenly ambushed the squad a second time, appearing behind Wearing and decapitating Schrader. Eventually, it was killed by Captain Humble after gunning it down with a Pulse rifle. With the vessel lifted, Singer planned to send it to the nearest USCM facility, Ganymede station.

Awakening the Engineer[]

With Wearing and the group inside the derelict, Wearing was mourning the death of Schrader, but soon went on to compose herself. As Singer was attempting to contact the Hasdrubal, Indelicato inspected the sarcophagus-like object that was previously hit during the fight with the Predator. The sarcophagus opened, and an Engineer emerged from stasis. The Engineer was immediately hostile and killed Indelicato, sending Wearing and the others into a retreat, with Wearing later describing the being as the "scariest damn shit" she'd ever seen. The Marines were forced to hide from the Engineer as it began taking control of the ship and directing it somewhere else.

Landing on LV-223[]

Six days later, the derelict landed on the moon LV-223. The Engineer walked out of the vehicle and the Marines quickly followed once out of sight. The Marines began searching for shelter, food and water. Wearing scanned the area and told Seegson asset-stripper Humble that the floral-forms around them were completely toxic. Humble hugged her, with Wearing asking him to let go. The Marines were suddenly ambushed by a horde of Xenomorphs, resulting in Rucker being taken and Jhalil being gravely by the creatures' acid blood. As the group were close to being overrun, they were suddenly saved by Geryon survivors Angela Foster and Galgo Helder. The Predator Ahab later revealed himself to the group too, much to Wearing and the other's shock and bemusement at seeing a non-hostile Yautja.

Freebody and the team regrouped at Foster's base, where they also met fellow Geryon survivors Chris and Jill.

Later, after Galgo reported to the group that the Engineer had visited a temple to reawaken a Second Engineer from stasis to kill them, the team formulated a plan to leave the moon.

In a plan to seize the Juggernaut, Angela had Ahab and Galgo distract the second Engineer whilst Angela, Roth, Singer and Humble went to the derelict to deal with the first Engineer. The rest of the team, Wearing, Freebody, Chris, Jill, and Melville were to carry the supplies, as well as Jhalil.

Second Xenomorph ambush and Death[]

"Forget them. We're on our own now."

Wearing opens fire on the Xenomorph horde.

Whilst escorting Jhalil to the ship, Wearing and the others were suddenly ambushed by Xenomorphs. Meanwhile, Angela, Singer and Humble had managed to board the ship, before the Engineer lifted it and left the planet. During the skirmish with the Xenos, Jill and Freebody noticed the derelict taking off, with Jill assuming that Angela abandoned them. Wearing remained focused on the horde, stating that they were on their own.

Wearing is killed by the Xenomorphs.

Angela's group managed to get aboard the derelict whilst Galgo and Ahab distract the second Engineer. Wearing's squad are ambushed by more Xenomorphs. As they hold them back, Jill and Freebody notice the derelict taking off, with Jill assuming that Angela abandoned them. Wearing replied with "forget them. We're on our own now."

During the skirmish, Wearing was suddenly jumped from behind by a Xeno, dragged into a bush and promptly headbitten, with the Marines forced to retreat. Freebody would later go on to inform Roth of Wearing's death.

Personality and Traits[]

Wearing was a capable soldier who remained straight-faced and collected in perilous situations.

Concept art of Wearing, illustrated by Andrea Mutti

Whilst artist Brian Albert Thies was in an earlier stage illustrating Predator: Life and Death, Andrea Mutti was working on issue 1 of Prometheus: Life and Death, which featured Wearing far more prominently in comparison to her incredibly minor, practically non-existent role in the former. Due to the overlapping issue that a "nameless marine who was part of Sgt. Roth's team from the Predator chapter was required to step up and take a speaking role", Mutti gave Thies rough sketches on what Wearing would look like so Thies could draw her earlier appearances in Predator: Life and Death.[1]
