- "I'm responsible for keeping as many of you safe as I can under the circumstances, Officer De Vore."
- ―Waugh to De Vore (from Aliens: Dust to Dust)
Waugh was a synthetic and the assistant administrator of Trono colony on LV-871.
Biography[]
Early days[]
Waugh was the Assistant administrator of the Trono settlement in LV-871. After the terraforming process of the planet failed, He and the rest of the colonial government did what they had to do to ensure the survival of the colony. The Weyland-Yutani Corporation was willing to infuse enough funding to keep the colony running for years in exchange of turning the terraforming stations into bio-storage facilities.[1]
Outbreak in Trono[]
- "Billings is dead. The vehicle is inoperable. Located two survivors. Proceeding on foot."

Waugh, calling Trono Evac Seven after finding Anne and Maxon Cregar.
Thirty six hours after a breach in containment[2] and Weyland-Yutani sent a code yellow, Waugh found colonists Anne Cregar and her son Maxon after his car crashed against her's in route to the space port.[3] He immediately radioed the shuttle Trono evac seven to inform about Billings death and to wait for them. He and the pair were followed closely by the xenomorph horde. They reached the East access port and the shuttle and escape just in time, not without losing two soldiers in the process[3].

Onboard the escape shuttle, Waugh and the other survivors were horrorized when Anne suddenly births a Chestburster that subsequently scurried into the ship interior. He hold Maxon and asked him to stay quiet. The captain arrived and told everyone to remain seated and informed the group that the Xenomorph blood ate through the hull and they are unable to break orbit. Waugh argued with the captain about requesting the USS Carver, a ship in orbit a transfer, citing possible contamination of the evacuating ship.[4]
Venturing across LV-871[]
- "You won't survive here. there are no supplies. no means of escape. Terraforming plant number three is due west. There should still be provisions... Possibly even a shuttle. Traveling on foot..."
- ―Waugh to the group of survivors. (Aliens: Dust to Dust Issue #2)
The chaos ensued when a passenger was killed by the slightly matured chestburster after it bit his throat, causing the shuttle to crash.[5] Waugh helped Maxon out of the shuttle before the co-pilot, Officer De Vore destroyed the ship remotely, hoping to kill the xenomorph.[6]
Thinking they were safe, Waugh and the rest waited while De Vore established a comm link with the Carver in orbit, so they can request extraction. After receiving a desperate transmission from captain Prego of the Carver, he and the rest watched hopelessly as the ship re-entered atmosphere in flames and crashed in LV-871. With no other option, Waugh suggested they trek to Terraforming Station 3, not far from there, from where they can get provisions and maybe a shuttle.[7]

Due to the storm, the group split. Waugh, Sinta, and the captain manage to reach a facility not far from the terraforming plant. De Vore and Maxon catch up with them shortly after fleeing the xenomorph who had killed Roman, his wife, and the construction worker.[8] Maxon walked away after having heard De Vore suggesting they would abandon him. However, he was stopped and scolded by Waugh. As he proceeded to return to the facility, with the protesting Maxon in hand, he looks up and witnessed a plethora of Xenomorphs on the ceiling.
The survivors fled from the ambushing aliens, with De Vore and the captain being killed in the attack. Waugh, Max and Sinta are forced to climb the cable of the destroyed bridge to get across for any chance of survival.[9] The captain gave up her handgun to Waugh before was captured by the xenomorphs. Waugh hands to gun to Sinta as the three remaining survivors climbed across the cable, with the Xenos in hot pursuit. Before a Xenomorph managed to strike Waugh with its tail, Sinta fired several shots at the aliens, their acid blood dripping onto the cable, causing the cable to break with everyone falling into the river below.[9]

Waugh, revealed as a synthetic after saving Maxon from drowning.
Waugh saved Maxon before the kid almost drowning, bringing him to land and revealed himself to be a Synthetic. Waugh requested for Maxon to decapitate him to make mobility more convenient.[10] Maxon complied and eventually reunited with Sinta. Waugh used his status as administrator and a retinal scan to access the terraforming plant, the group then explored the interior in search of a way to reach the shuttle at the top.[11]
Escape[]
Sinta accused Waugh and his superiors of transforming the plants into incubators after discovering facehugger containers inside Terraforming station 3. Waugh revealed the truth, that the government of Trono had signed an agreement with the Weyland-Yutani Corporation that, in exchange for a lifetime of funding, Trono would comply with "bio-storage" activities that ultimately culminated in "unintended consequences".[1]
The group fled after the one-armed xenomorph almost killed Maxon. They ran up a large flight of stairs in hopes of reaching the escape shuttle. However, they stumbled upon a massive horde and are forced into an elevator.[12] When the elevator is revealed not to function, they take the escape hatch and eventually reached the top of the plant. Sinta berated Waugh about leading them to the wrong tower, to which the android replied he had no choice. She suggested they must make a jump to the next tower to reach the shuttle. Maxon went first and Sinta tossed the head of Waugh to him, later revealing that she wont make it due to the condition of her leg.[13]

Maxon and Waugh discovered the shuttle right at the center of a Xenomorph hive, with the Queen blocking their path to the escape ship. However, the armless Xenomorph emerges and attacked the Queen, granting them enough time to board the shuttle, ignite the engines and take off, incinerating the hive and all of its inhabitants in its wake.[14] To Waugh's protest, Maxon strayed from the required trajectory in order to save Sinta and picked her up just before the Xenomorphs reached her.
Waugh, Maxon and Sinta finally escaped soon they were rescued by the crew of a space station.[15]
