- "Mister Johnny, the runner says it was no simba killed the men. Says it was a ghost, a Forest Devil."
- ―Wanji to John Copeland (from Predator: The Pride at Nghasa)
Wanji was the assistant to park ranger John Copeland in Kenya. He accompanied Copeland and Reginald Barrows to escort expert hunter Sir James Neville Ramsay to Nghasa Basin after several workers were attacked and killed by a 'Lion'.
He was killed by the true culprit - a Yautja known by the locals as the Forest Devil, stabbing him from behind with its wristblades.
Biography[]
At Kildeer station, a runner approached Wanji, Copeland and Barrows, notifying them that they were to escort the hunter Sir James Neville Ramsay to Nghasa Basin following an attack there. Word spread that a Lion was the culprit, but Wanji translates that the runner attested it was a Forest Devil - "Dudu Ya Porini."
The following afternoon, Ramsay arrived to greet the three, with Ramsay promptly corrected after mistaking Wanji for a bearer.
The group assembled a team and set out on foot, approaching a nearby village on the way. A village elder informed them of the 'Forest Devil', and a child escorted them to several flayed corpses strung up on a tree.
Death[]
- "For Christ's mercy. Wanji. Help me here. Reggie's dying. Wanji!"
- ―John Copeland (from Predator: The Pride at Nghasa)

Wanji's death.
Suddenly the group are attacked by the Forest Devil. James was killed from the blast of a Plasmacaster and Barrows was accidentally shot by the frantic gunfire of the bearers. As Copeland attempted to tend to Barrows' wounds, he called for Wanji's help who was standing nearby. In actuality, Wanji was killed from behind by the creature's wristblades, now an empty husk with a look of terror over his dead body.
