- "The Viking is stronger and slower that even the Berserker, making them a ferocious adversary. Rather than using additional gear, they lean more on their own abilities as a show of strength."
- ―Description of the Viking Predator (from Predator: Hunting Grounds)
The Viking Predator was a Yautja who conducted hunts during the Viking Age.[1]
Biography[]
Not much is known about this warrior except that he hunted during the Viking Expansion, as his attention was drawn by the ruthless Viking raiders during their invasion of Europe.[1]
Equipment[]
The Viking Predator possessed typical Yautja weaponry, including Wristblades, a Wrist gauntlet, a Cloak, a Plasmacaster in addition to his Yautja Battleaxe. His armor featured metal plates with Celtic ornaments, chainmail and fur.[1]
Trivia[]
- The Viking Predator was released alongside its Battleaxe in the Viking Predator DLC pack.
- The Viking Predator was not the first to have fought Vikings; the short story Skeld's Keep from the novel Predator: If It Bleeds features three blooded Predators named Ta'roga, Shriek and Kata'nu hunting Vikings in 820.
- The Viking Predator's Bio-Mask uniquely features a metal plate over one of the eye lenses (akin to an eyepatch). This is likely a reference to the Aesir God Odin, who, in Norse mythology, sacrificed one of his eyes and hung from the branches of Yggdrasil for several days to attain unparalleled wisdom.
