"Look alive, Private! You're in some serious shit."
―The Commander to Anderson (from Aliens versus Predator)

An unnamed commander was a member of the United States Colonial Marine Corps. He was in charge of the Marines stationed at the Weyland-Yutani research station built around the derelict ship on LV-426, and was involved in the Xenomorph outbreak there in 2189.

Biography[]

When Anderson awoke in the middle of the Xenomorph outbreak at the research facility on LV-426, the commander immediately contacted him with the aim of guiding him out of the complex and to safety. He was in constant contact with Anderson as the Marine made his way through the colony and finally the Atmosphere Processing Plant on the moon, and arranged for a Cheyenne dropship to rescue him from the surface.

When Anderson reached the USS Odobenus, the commander warned him of the Yautja vessel that had docked with the station, and also the Xenoborg cyborgs that were present. After Anderson reached and fought his way through the USS Tyrargo, the commander informed him that Weyland-Yutani had abandoned him there, effectively leaving him to die; however, in one final act of assistance, the commander hacked into the Tyrargo's systems and opened an escape route so that Anderson could flee into the ship's main hangar.

Trivia[]

  • The commander's appearance was completely changed in the Gold Edition and Classic 2000 releases of Aliens versus Predator, in which all the in-game videos seen on monitors throughout the campaigns were replaced with re-recorded versions, featuring members of Rebellion's staff instead of the paid actors used in the original game. This change was widely criticized by players (chiefly because of the very poor voice acting in the new videos) and several mods can be found online that will reinstall the original in-game messages.
