The USS Montoro was a Conestoga-class troop transport ship in service with the United States Colonial Marine Corps. It was deployed to LV-KR 115 to investigate a loss of communications with a Weyland-Yutani agricultural colony on the planet.[3]
It was manned by Marines under the command of Captain Broome. It housed at least two UD-4 "Cheyenne" Dropships, which the Marines used to travel to the planet's surface.[3]

Mission to LV-KR 115[]
After the Weyland-Yutani colony and harvesters went silent for almost nine weeks, the Montoro was sent to investigate. Arrived on site the Montoro dispatched two groups, one commanded by Lieutenant Teller to investigate the first harvester, the Consus while a second group commanded by commanded by Captain Broome to investigate the second harvester, the Demeter.
However once the dropships passed the atmosphere all contact were lost between the ship and the two Cheyennes due to a massive storm that will reveal later to be a humongous Swarm of predatory locusts that had wiped out the harvesters and will decimates all the Marines on the planet. It is unknown what happened to the Montoro after the mission.[3]
