- "A unique model from Hyperdyne, the Twinhammer fires 2 heavy rounds in rapid succession, making it easy to land 2 shots on target. The special magazine style means frequent and lengthy reloads, and the double kick can be tricky for some to master."
- ―Overview of the Twinhammer (from Aliens: Fireteam Elite)
The Twinhammer was a burst pistol manufactured by the Hyperdyne Corporation and used by the Union of Progressive Peoples, the Independent Core System Colonies, and the United States Colonial Marine Corps during the 22nd century.
Development[]
The Twinhammer was designed for low–skilled Union of Progressive Peoples militia conscripts and volunteers. Users were trained to aim at the center of the target's mass, with the "walk–up" of the second shot therefore more likely to hit a vital location.[1]
Overview[]
The Twinhammer was capable of firing two heavy bullets in a short amount of time; however, the double kick from this action could be hard to master, and the Twinhammer's low–capacity special magazine necessitated frequent and lengthy reloads. The Artificial Intelligence Compliance Unit of the Independent Core System Colonies, trained to hunt unregistered and criminal synthetics, used the Twinhammer's two–round burst in conjunction with piezoelectric rounds to temporarily disrupt synthetics that were attempting to reroute around damage and engage their backup systems.[1]
Notable users[]
Originally released in 2177 for the Union of Progressive Peoples' colonial militias, the Twinhammer was also used by their Space Operating Forces, civilian market collectors, the Independent Core System Colonies, law enforcement agencies, and the United States Colonial Marine Corps. Owing to its use by the ICSC, the Twinhammer was featured in the popular local documentary "SynthHunters".[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The Twinhammer appears in Aliens: Fireteam Elite and can be obtained from Staff Sergeant Han-jae Park for 4800 Requisition Points. It can be equipped by Technician, Doc and Phalanx classes.
