"The Hyperdyne Twilight pushes the DMR envelope, providing range closer to a Sniper Rifle, but with a faster firing rate and steady shot that can still prove effective at shorter ranges."
―Overview of the Twilight v.4 (from Aliens: Fireteam Elite)

The Twilight v.4 was a dedicated marksman rifle manufactured by the Hyperdyne Corporation and used by the Union of Progressive Peoples and the United States Colonial Marine Corps.

Development[]

The Twilight was developed by labor workers on the sylvan planet of Seneca; tired of being exploited by wealthy Earth executives, and having expelled the majority peaceably, the workers coordinated a network to fabricate a rapid–fire long–range weapon capable of harassing holdouts from positions beyond their gardens and electrical fences. The Twilight v.1 was born from this effort, and was used to drive most of the executives offworld. The Hyperdyne Corporation took the opportunity to develop several versions of the Twilight, with the v.4 being the latest model.[1]

Overview[]

The Twilight, like its predecessors, fired 10×24mm Caseless, a standard United States Colonial Marine Corps ammunition that could be looted from forsaken Marine garrison armories and battlefield salvage on many seized Union of Progressive Peoples worlds. The Twilight v.4 was an excellent weapon, combining firepower, providing better range, and boasting a faster firing rate than a typical sniper rifle. Moreover, it was still effective at shorter range.[1]

Notable users[]

The original model, designated "v.1", was created in 2155 for the Unity Committees of 71 Tauri A e. The weapon's latest version was used by the Union of Progressive Peoples' Space Operating Forces, the civilian market, and private military contractors. The Colonial Marines also managed to procure the Twilight's fabrication blueprints and ballistics software, and thus produce the rifle themselves.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

The Twilight v.4 appears in Aliens: Fireteam Elite and can be obtained via a random drop by finishing a mission in Standard difficulty. It can be equipped by Gunner, Demolisher, Recon and Doc classes.
