Translucent Yautja refers to a specialized subspecies of Yautja from the southern pole of Yautja Prime. This subspecies is notable for their translucent skin, which shows off their phosphorescent blood. Notable members of this subspecies include the Night Hunter Clan.[1]

Biology[]

The subspecies mostly resembled typical Yautja but with the major difference of their mostly translucent outer tissues which allow for their phosphorescent green blood's glow to shine through as a form of bioluminescence. This is an environmental adaptation that allows the Yautja's own body to act as a sort of biological beacon in the extremely dark regions of the south pole.[1]

While horn-like structures are not unheard of in some Yautja individuals, this subspecies notably possesses prominent inwards curving horns on the side of their head, the purpose of which is unknown.

Trivia[]

  • The translucent subspecies originated as a glow-in-the-dark Kenner figure for their 1994 Predator toyline. NECA later justified the gimmick with their 2016 tribute figure's bio officially describing the south pole subspecies.
