Hyperdyne AA23 Starship and Synthetic Service Outpost, better known as Transept, was a Hyperdyne Corporation service station crewed by 120-A/2 and 120-A/3 synthetics and located on a barren, rocky planet in the GJ2005 System of the Frontier's Borderline Region.
History[]
As of 2184, at least six antiquated Heliades-class J Scientific Exploratory Vessels, including the Epimetheus, were kept at Transept; United States Colonial Marine Corps intelligence believed that Hyperdyne had acquired the ships illicitly from an Outer Rim Defense Fleet graveyard in the nearby Crestus Garrison Systems. While officially slated for Spinward exploration forays, in reality the ships were being used to plot illegal routes to and from the world of Pandora for the smuggling of biotechnology developed there without alerting the Interstellar Commerce Commission. The Epimetheus was the first ship to be utilized for this purpose, having embarked upon several experimental missions to map such routes.

Transept's atmosphere, though breathable, was thin and buffeted by solar winds. The planet's surface was barren and rocky.

Transept's key resources included solar power batteries and assorted supplies, as well as the station itself.
