Theta Nedra Berwick was the daughter of botanists Hugo and Francesca Berwick, interstellar surveyors who worked for Astar Industries.[1]

Biography[]

In December 2041[2], Berwick went with her parents to Damara. There, they studied the native wildlife, until her father was shot by a Yautja. Berwick and her mother ran away back to the Sandpiper. The predator continued killing more of the Sandpiper's crew. Aboard the ship, her mother told her to hide and return to Earth. Berwick was locked in the Sandpiper's lab. She then watched as the Predator killed her mother for cutting off one of its mandibles with a machete. Berwick the picked up her mother's machete and told the predator to please let her go to her mother. Berwick stayed with her mother until she died, telling her that she and her father loved him. Her mother told the Sandpiper's AI to look after her.[1]

Hunting Predators[]

For the next 15 years, she hunted predators, searching for the one that killed her parents. Berwick was able to design her own body armor from her predator kills. She also added a trophy room that contained her Predators' Bio-masks. When she killed her 4th predator, Berwick found a red egg-shaped device aboard its ship that contained its travel logs. However, turning on the device activated a homing beacon which ended up leading her 5th and 6th kills to her. As a result, she began taking extra precautions when handling such devices so as not to draw more of them to her. On September 17th, 2053, Berwick killed her 16th predator. The predators that she hunted then began to modify their hunting routes.[1]

In 2056, Berwick fought a predator on X14432-8. Using a axe and later her machete, Berwick beheaded the predator, who was not the one who killed her parents. After putting its head on its Combistick, Berwick went to the predator's ship and recovered its black box. After destroying the ship, Berwick encountered X14432-8's natives, who believed she was a predator due to her armor and ended up attacking her out of fear. Berwick was able to escape them and return to the Sandpiper.[1]

She was urged by "Sandy" to repair the ship at a nearby Astar Industries' outpost at Tusket. En route, Berwick was forced to crashland away from the outpost.[1] She was able to reboot "Sandy" and left the Sandpiper to retrieve the necessary equipment need for repairs at Port Medway. She decided to wear cold-weather gear and carry her armor and weapons with her. For eleven days, Berwick traveled across the ice. She was able to kill a boar for food and was able to rest in a cave. There, she encountered a pair of Tusket natives, Crug and his friend. Berwick threatened to kill Crug if they did not give her their hoverbike. They allowed her to leave in exchange for medical supplies and food to survive.[3]

She was able to reach the port. However, Berwick discovered that the port's employees had been killed by a Predator that had her axe[3] she lost at X14432-8.[1] Berwick tried to shoot the predator, but it was able to destroy her plasma rifle. She fought the predator through the port, until she was able to kill it in by purging the port's coolant at it. She then retrieved her axe. Berwick was able to find the equipment needed for the Sandpiper before "Sandy" informed her about another ship approaching. After gathering equipment and supplies, Berwick left on the hoverbike. She was able to repair the Sandpiper. She wondered how the predator, after killing 23 of them, knew she would come here. "Sandy" told her that the predators were resourceful when studying their targets. The Sandpiper then came under attack by a pair of predator ships.[4]

At the Preserve[]

By 2062[5], Berwick had killed 31 predators.[6] Berwick eventually made her way to the Predator's Game Preserve Planet. There, she found Paolo and another group of humans taken from Earth as game for the predators' hunts.[7] Berwick led the group past a group of River Ghosts. She told Omar that the predators were using him and the others as practice and improve their skills. Omar and the others were surprised when Berwick did not know about the Predators puting them into Stasis. Berwick and the others then found the dead predator's ship. Berwick investigated the ship while Paolo assured the rest of the group they would taken to nearby Astar outpost. After examining the ship, Berwick took the group to the Sandpiper.[5]

However, one of the predators followed the group and Berwick told Paolo to get the group aboard. Berwick fought the predator until it cut off her right arm. Before the predator could finish her, a group of river ghosts arrived[5] and attacked the Predator. Berwick was carried back to the ship by Allen and Omar. She was later informed by Paolo that Kiyoshi Yakusbo and Awja had taken the Sandpiper. However, Awja returned to pick them up. Aboard the Sandpiper, Paola treated Berwick by giving her a new arm.[6]

Encounter with the Super Predator[]

On Tantallon in 2068, Berwick and Paola tracked the Predators here. However they came under attack by the native populace when they believed they were Predators. Fortunately they were able to escape back to the Sandpiper. They then found a beacon on Maboli from a predator supply ship that had Stasis chambers,[8] used to bring in more captured prey to the Preserve Planet.[5] Berwick found a dead predator that was killed by something. Using the black box from the ship, Berwick and Paolo discovered the location of the stasis farms. Before leaving, they were approached by John Schaefer.[8]

Berwick and Paola were then invited to Schaefer's camp with the other survivors who crashed in 2066. Berwick excepted to take schaefer and several others with her to the stasis farm on Glenelg. However, when they got to the planet, Berwick and her crew found it abandoned. She and Paolo realized that predators wanted to them to find it. Berwick on her crew were then confronted by[9] the Nightmare Hunter. She and the others fought it, but several were killed by it. As Berwick and the others tried to return to the Sandpiper, they came under attack by a pack of Hell-Hounds. However, by the time Berwick, Paolo and a few others made past the hounds, the Sandpiper had been destroyed.[10]

Berwick continued to fight the hell-hounds,[10] until she came to in a stasis chamber.[11]
