The Tanaka System was a star system located in the outer limit of the Far Reach.

The Tanaka System contained the blue star NN3346 and was located in the Frontier in the outer Far Reach at a distance of approximately 96 light-years or 29.5 parsecs Rimward–Trailward from the Sol System.
History[]
The Tanaka System was, as of 2183, the most remote system of the American Arm. The first four planets of the system were so close to their star that they were little more than burning lumps of slag. The fifth planet, Tanaka 5, was the only body located within the star's habitable zone, and the last was a frigid ice ball at such a remove from the star that initial surveys failed to notice it.[1]
