If it so happens that the acid glows or is produced in the glow glands on this Alien that it is not the default type acid used by the species? The reason I am saying this is because the majority of the species acid does not glow. See the Aliens can use any acid the so choose because of the Bio-Imperative.

- Acids do not interact with molecules and compounds in the same way alike. One super acid actually absorbs/strips the calcium from things its touching ergo it gets on your arm you meat becomes burgers, your bones have the calcium sucked out of them.

Check out the other acids. They all have different ho values but they also have different effect on different materials. I very much doubt that it's a Praetorion. If it were, then it would most likely be around the Hive, instead of in the field. Also, Praetorions are very hard to kill, unlike the Spitter, which can be killed in a couple of Pulse Rifle Shots. Dannylaz (talk) (Contribs) 15:57, February 15, 2013 (UTC)

Do you think it may be a Human Spawned Xenomorph & something was; Diffirent about the Host? Or if it is a Drone do you think there would have to be Spisific Requirements for it to 'Mutate'/'Evolve'? And if it is a Drone, Would it Evolve into something like a Warrior? Aliens: Fireteam[]
While the talks about merging the Lurker with the Drone and unmerging the Drone and Warrior go on, I'd like to see peoples' thoughts about renaming this page and creating a new page for the Spitter from Fireteam. Due to how radically different the two incarnations are, coupled with the fact that the ACM/AVPTHB Spitter is also referred to as a Ranger in the Brady Games guide, I think it would be a good idea to split these two Spitters into their own separate pages. Although the ACM Spitter has been called a Ranger, it is predominantly known as a Spitter elsewhere and in the game itself, so renaming it to its secondary name would only be for differentiation's sake. Although theres not much on the AF Spitter yet, I dont see how they are 'radically' different. I think we could make a singular page work. RE: Page Split[]
With Fireteam Elite now having been released for quite some time, I've decided to revisit this topic. While I haven't been able to play Fireteam Elite myself yet (I plan to soonish), I have been doing some research into the caste in the game such as this "Spitter" and also doing some more research into the original Spitter AKA Ranger, and I have come to solidify my belief that these two Xenomorphs should be split across two different pages due to their differences. From what I can tell, all evidence points towards these two "Spitters" being distinct castes with different evolutionary paths.
To me the most logical choice is to rename this page to the other name used for the original Spitters, being Ranger and moving Fireteam's Spitter to a new page. Yes, the Rangers are known as Spitters in all their in-media appearances with the Ranger name only coming from the guide but I feel it is a better solution than splitting the pages into something like "Spitter (LV-895)" and "Spitter (LV-426)" as the latter has also appeared on other worlds courtesy of Hot Landing Zone and any future media that uses either of them would most likely also render these location distinctions redundant.
