Telepathy[]

The articles on Decker and Sea of Sorrows seem to suggest he was a 'regular' empath and that the novel is hereby saying that telepathy exists in the Alien universe. I was under the impression that Decker was a descandant not of the original Ripley, but of the Ripley 8 clone, hence his telepathy-like abilities. I figured this was a Xenomorph trait that got passed along. Sea of Sorrows takes place long enough after Alien: Resurrection for Ripley to have had children and grandchildren. The main thing that goes against my assumption that it is Ripley 8 and not the original Ripley is the fact that the book implies that Ripley lived many centuries ago, making no reference to the clone (the Auriga crash was caused by terrorists as far as Decker knows).  What are your thoughts? I thought of that myself and mentioned it on some forums a while back, but someone (correctly) pointed out that Rollins talks about the original Ellen Ripley's actions on the Nostromo and Sulaco when discussing Decker's ancestors. In fact, I'm fairly sure one of the admins put the question to the author himself as part of an interview and he specifically confirmed that Decker is a descendant of the original Ripley.
As an idea, I think clone-descendant makes far more sense, but it apparently is not the case.--Buck-ark LEIGH BURNE(Talk) 08:13, August 3, 2015 (UTC)
