The Svarog Mine, otherwise known as Svarog, was an Eitr mining operation and human colony owned by the Jùtóu Combine and located on the Union of Progressive Peoples planet Shānmén. One of the largest such operations in known space, the Svarog Mine was abandoned following a Xenomorph outbreak on Shānmén.
Overview[]
Located atop a lofty mountain on the Union of Progressive Peoples planet Shānmén, it was one of the largest mining operations in known space. Svarog was crewed by various members of administrative staff as well as hired and indentured miners, including the Knot, a small consortium of miners led by Toru McLintock-Riley.[1]
The mine sat above a complex of alien ruins which were discovered by McLintock-Riley during an abortive attempt to repair a malfunctioning shotcrete robot.[2]

History[]
Shānmén was later attacked by an alien pathogen that mutated the planet's wildlife[3] and drove the human survivors of the resulting incident into the mineshafts. Various mutant creatures—and several Engineers–assailed the miners as they traversed the ruins in an attempt to escape through the mine tailings,[4] with only three individuals being rescued by the elite unit known as the Jackals.[5]
Following these events, Svarog was abandoned along with the rest of Shānmén, which was classified as a dead world. UPP General Kasey Ristic bemoaned the loss of Svarog and its valuable contents at a conference afterward.[6]
As of 2187, the struggles of the Svarog miners had become common knowledge.
