Maria and Tyler referring to Splitter (from Alien vs. Predator: Thicker Than Blood)

Splitter[1] was a presumed Young Blood who, alongside his brother, Pig Iron, and father, Hook, boarded the luxury ship USSC Double Down after it had trespassed in an unknown sector of space, and began a slaughter of its inhabitants.

Splitter was killed by the Xenomorph that was initially held captive within their Mother Ship, duelling it before being decapitated by the latter.

Characteristics[]

Splitter possessed distinctive maroon-colored skin, similar to that of Hornhead.

Biography[]

AVPTTBSplitter3

Splitter begins his slaughter aboard the lido-deck.

Splitter was the son of disgraced Yautja Elder, Hook.[2] In an unknown sector of space, Hook took him and his brother, Pig Iron, to a nearby planet to conduct a hunting ritual using a single Xenomorph they had captured, presumably for the purpose of blooding. However, upon noticing the USSC Double Down entering their territory, they boarded the luxury ship, and Hook and Splitter began mercilessly slaughtering its passengers.

Splitter arrived within the lido-deck and began killing the civilians there with his plasma-whip. He subsequently turned his attention to the ship captain's daughter, Maria and her Synthetic younger brother Tyler, who both managed to escape the area.

After finishing his killing spree, Splitter reunited with his father in the forward-lounge, only to find him heavily mutilated and mangled, but still alive (he had caught his arm and leg within an elevator whilst chasing the children). Splitter used his whip to amputate and seal his father's mangled limbs, leaving him without a left arm and leg.

Death and Legacy[]

AVPTTBXeno3

Splitter is killed by the Xenomorph.

Due to Pig Iron's negligence, the captive Xenomorph had managed to kill him and escape the Mother Ship, subsequently wrecking havoc within the Double Down. Eventually, it made its way to the forward lounge, and Tyler and Maria entered the room to witness Splitter defend his unconscious father from the Xenomorph. However, after a brief battle, the Xenomorph eventually overwhelmed the ill-equipped Predator and brutally decapitated him.

The Xeno's preoccupation with Splitter garnered Tyler and Maria enough time to drag Hook out of the lounge, and the three eventually allied themselves together to kill the rampaging Alien. Maria would later give Hook his son's whip in his duel against the Alien, using it to finally kill the creature.

Trivia[]

  • Splitter appears on the front cover of issue four of Thicker Than Blood. This is in fact incongruous with the narrative of the series, as he had been brutally ripped apart by the Xenomorph in the events of the previous issue.
  • Splitter's name is never referred to within the series, but is instead revealed in an interview with Jeremy Barlow, with he and Pig Iron specifically referred to as "problem-children".[3]
