A soldier was stationed aboard the United Systems Military medical research vessel USM Auriga as of 2381. While attempting to take charge of an incident involving the crew of the smuggling vessel Betty aboard the Auriga in that year, the soldier was shot through his helmet by crewmember Gary Christie.

The soldier taking charge
The soldier was among 42 members of enlisted personnel aboard the United Systems Military medical vessel USM Auriga as of 2381. When head researcher Dr. Mason Wren confronted the crew of the smuggling vessel Betty over crewmember Annalee Call's attempts to disrupt his Xenomorph breeding program, the confrontation turned violent and the Betty crew killed most of the USM guards present. The soldier was the first responder to the shootout, attempting to force the mercenaries to stand down by holding his Lacrima 99 Shockrifle on smuggler Gary Christie. In response Christie aimed a shot to hit a reinforced part of the ceiling, sending the round through the top of the soldier's helmet and killing him.

The soldier was familiar with USM codes, and continued to press for order while outnumbered.

The soldier carried a Lacrima 99 Shockrifle and wore a helmet.

The character is never named in the film or its novelization, and is simply credited as "Soldier shot through helmet".
