Sand-lice were large arthropods native to the heavy metal-rich mining moon of Dažbog. They were carnivorous, and featured metal-laced chitin shells that were resistant to electricity. When encountered by miners, sand-lice were enough of a nuisance to warrant the use of stun batons and electroshock barriers; however, those tools were ineffective against the creatures. To more effectively counter them, miner and former Romanian Armed Forces armorer Anton Milonovich crafted a weapon capable of doing so in 2116. This weapon was the AM-16 Gruppa, a dedicated marksman rifle.
