The STSV Clara was a private space towing and salvage vessel owned and operated by Gambell Reclamations.
History[]
The space towing and salvage vessel, Clara, had been purchased by Dennis Gambell after his wife died which is when he decided to sell every inch of property they had on Earth to make enough money to establish Gambell Reclamations. Dennis left his only son, Jamie, with his sister until he was nine before taking him out into space to teach him the ropes of the business he would inherit, which happened around the year 2176.
In the past, the Clara had been paid a ridiculous amount of money to take a rich old lady and her five Chihuahuas to Earth. In 2186, Gambell Reclamations had been commissioned by Weyland-Yutani to recover ore from a crash site out on the frontier, and brought back "eggs" with them, unofficially. The Clara's cargo bay contained a bank of mini-cryotubes, mainly for the transportation of small animals for when colonies traded livestock, and they'd used twenty-seven of them for the unexpected little bonus cargo they'd found in a crashed freighter.
Upon their journey back from their most recent commission, the crew awoke to find themselves in orbit over LV-593 where the ship ultimately crash-landed, killing its entire crew. It has since been suspected that someone may have boarded the Clara while her crew was asleep, stole the ovomorphs, crashed the ship into the sticks on New Albion (LV593), and planted the ovomorphs on LV-187 in an attempt to make the planet seem uninhabitable, resulting in winning the uncontested salvage rights to a planet with rich resources of crude oil.
