A rookie recruit was a member of the United States Colonial Marine Corps assigned to the warship UAS Endeavor as of 2202. In that year, the marine took part in combating Xenomorph outbreaks on the Seegson orbital refinery Katanga and the planet LV-895.

The marine serves as the player character in the 2021 video game Aliens: Fireteam Elite, and can be equipped with a variety of weapons and equipment loadouts. Certain aspects of the character such as gender, hair and skin color, voice, weapons, equipment, and role can be customized by the player.
