Richard Forgues is a Canadian comic book artist and writer who worked on the comic Aliens: Lovesick for Dark Horse Comics.
Forgues co-wrote the story with friend and fellow French-Canadian Thierry Gagnon, Dark Horse V.P. Randy Stradley.
Biography[]
Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec in 1965, Forg's artistic career started with an apprenticeship at an animation studio in 1984. He would go on to work extensively as an artist in the mainstream animation field throughout the 80s on a number of series including the Star Wars: The New Ewok Adventures and The Care Bears.
Five years later he visited the San Diego Convention Comicon with demos for a number of comics projects including Laundry Land (Fantagraphics) and Adrift (Dark Horse).
He continued to work in the animation industry as a storyboard artist on shows such as Sonic The Hedgehog and Beetlejuice, and self-published a few comics such as Epic 1813 and Silicon Horizon, along with the story Black Eye featured in Dark Horse Presents in 1990 and a sketchbook, published by Tundra in 1991.
Forgues perhaps gained his most widespread mainstream comics success in 1996, when he worked on the one-issue Aliens: Lovesick for Dark Horse and the story Fable of the North-West, in Canada.
