"What manner of creature was I facing? Perhaps that old Hindu Brahmin was right, and it truly was a demon. A Rakshasa, one of the race of evil gods cast out to Nirvana. And what kind of a fool would that make me, in even thinking I could defeat such a being?"
Edward Soames regarding the Rakshasa (from Predator: Nemesis)

The Rakshasa, also known as Spring-Heeled Jack, was a lone Yautja in the nineteenth century who conducted hunts in India and England. Agent Edward Soames would be assigned by the Diogenes Club to track and kill the hunter that was terrorizing the city of London after an encounter in Bengal in 1881, fifteen years earlier.

The Predator would eventually meet its end at the hands of Soames after he is drowned by him in a mud pool in the River Thames.

At some point, the lone Yautja arrived at Earth and had begun terrorizing a local village in Bengal nearby a garrison of the British Raj. Rumours spread that the killings were the works of a Tiger, but others believed it to be a 'Rakshasa', a man-eating demon. The local Wallah approached the garrison and requested to soldiers Edward Soames and Cromer for the British's help to eliminate the threat. Ultimately, Soames, Cromer and a few others, supported by local guides, ventured into the jungle wilderness to locate the killer. They suddenly encountered two strung-up headless corpses, which terrified the guides and sent them fleeing. Cromer was suddenly killed from the shot of a Plasmacaster, and the "Rakshasa" emerged and swiftly slaughtered the squad with ease, leaving only Soames as the sole survivor.

Jack meets his end.

Fifteen years after the incident. The Predator began a killing spree in the city of the London, garnering the pseudonym 'Spring-Heeled Jack'. At some point the hunter raided a local bar in Whitechapel and massacred all inhabitants, leaving only a young Indian boy alive. Soames later became an agent and was tasked by the elusive Diogenes Club to track and eliminate the serial killer. After investigating the scene of the crime, Soames was distressed to realize that the culprit was the same one he encountered in Bengal fifteen years ago.

Soames was later called to the underground, where the hunter's Mother Ship had been discovered within the tunnels. After returning from one of his hunts, Jack was met with Soames waiting for him, who blew a hole into the creatures' shoulder with an elephant gun, sending it into a retreat into the outside of the River Thames. Before Soames reached the outside of the tunnel, the Predator had impaled a police chief with a Combistick and subsequently ambushed Soames from behind, narrowly missing a swipe from its Wristblades. Soames opened fire into the creature, hitting it seven times with his pistols, though he was still left standing.

Death[]

Soames retreated, luring the Predator into a nearby mud-pool. After goading the creature, the Predator followed suit, but Soames, now possessing the high ground on a set of stairs, swiftly sent the hunter into the mud-pool after a brief melee. The Predator desperately held onto a wooden railing, but Soames cut it's arm off with a kukri-knife he had acquired. The hunter slowly drowned in the mud-pool before the river tide came in, likely finishing the creature off for good.
