The Prometheus comic book line is a series of comic books published by Dark Horse Comics based on the 2012 film Prometheus. The line has included a number of limited series and one-shots, starting with the comic Prometheus: Fire and Stone in September 2014.

Since the line's inception, Dark Horse has published a total of 4 different Prometheus stories, as well as various collected editions and reprints.

Overview[]

Given that the film Prometheus is set within the same fictional universe as the original Alien from 1979, the new movie's incorporation into Dark Horse Comics' existing Aliens, Predator and Aliens vs. Predator comics franchise seemed like an obvious move. The launch of the Prometheus line, with the four-issue limited series Prometheus: Fire and Stone, marked the first major expansion to the shared comic book universe in almost 25 years, since Dark Horse published its first Aliens vs. Predator story in 1990. To help cement the new line's co-existence with the Aliens/Predator/AVP comics, the first series formed just one part of the franchise-wide Fire and Stone crossover that also included entries from the other three lines that shared events, characters and locations with the new series.
