Project Morana was a covert psychological experiment conducted by the Union of Progressive Peoples.
Overview[]
Following the Ministry of Space Security's acquirement of pure Plagiarus praepotens cells, the breeding of Xenomorph specimens promptly followed; the UPP had since established three Xenomorph hives on remote moons. However, two of the hive's Queens were removed for the purpose of Project Morana.[1]
A Queen is put in cryostasis, and neuro visor operators attempted to observe the creature's subconscious. So far, all humans who have attempted to decipher the Queen's thoughts have been rendered in a comatose state - only Synthetics have been known to remain unscathed from the exercise, though no sufficient results have since been produced from them.[2] The MSS have since attempted to recruit "strong-minded professional dreamers" who can resist the Queen's brainwaves, and attempt to establish communication with her.
Operation Dreamcatcher was also a psychological experiment under Morana, in which a Queen's mental frequencies was broadcast over nearby colonies to observe the affects - the results saw the frequencies driving inhabitants to violent, psychotic behavior.[3]
