The Lanard Predator Collection is an ongoing line of retro-styled primarily 7" scale action figures and accessories based on the Predator franchise. Revealed in December of 2020, the line appears to be aimed at a young audience with its brightly colored figures, while also appealing to collectors with its 90s retro-aesthetic and overall resemblance to the 1994 Kenner toys.

Overview[]

"Predators — the most deadly and elusive hunters in the universe, have now chosen Earth as their otherworldly hunting ground. Special forces, police, and intelligence operatives now aware of these deadly creatures have united to track them down. But really, who's tracking whom! Utilizing advanced alien technology these deceptive extraterrestrials have an array of weapons for any situation or environment. From dense tropical jungles to concrete laden cities, the unseen Predators stalk their prey and will only leave with trophies in hand. Test your mettle and choose your Predator, grab them before they disappear. Let the Hunt begin!" ~ The bio on the back of the line's box art.

The series has a simplistic and retro style to its figures and packaging, harkening back to the style of Kenner's Predator toys. Unlike the prior released Alien Collection, the Predator Collection appears to have a higher focus on collector appeal and is less blatant with its child-centric marketing, ditching the generic randomly colored figures of the past line for figures based on specific Predators from the movies. Despite this, it still has several kid appeal elements such as the bright high saturation decos of the figures. This line seems to have ditched the 4" scale of the Wave 1 Alien Collection figures and gone with a larger 7" scale much like the Collector's Series figures from the Alien Collection's 2nd wave.

Trivia[]

PC Broken Accessory

Stock image from the Predator Super Set showing a bent Combistick accessory.

  • The Berserker Predator erroneously has the first film's title on his packaging unlike the Falconer, who has the correct Predators title.
    • The Super Set release of the Berserker fixes this error.
  • For an unknown reason, only the City Hunter's mask is brown, the rest of his armor is the standard grey.
  • Stock images for the Predator Super Set show the Berserker holding a damaged Combistick accessory.
  • Despite its name, the 12" Super Hunter appears to be based on the City Hunter's skin pattern and not any of the Super Predators.
