"You mean this thing's taking on the whole of Justice Department? But it can't believe it can get us all?"
"It appears to have accepted the challenge. And at the moment, it's winning.
"
Tulk and Joseph Dredd (from Predator versus Judge Dredd)

A lone Yautja conducted a hunt in the dystopian megalopolis, Mega-City One. Its rampage across the city earned the immediate attention of the totalitarian police force known as the 'Street Judges'.

He was ultimately tracked down and killed by the prolific Judge Dredd.

Biography[]

Hunting the Judges[]

"They live for the hunt-- anything, everything, as long as its a challenge. They select only the most difficult, dangerous quarry -- as if nothing less is worthy of them. It's as if they live by a kind of code, a strange warrior code."
―Judge Schaefer (from Predator versus Judge Dredd)

A lone Yautja landed on Earth nearby Mega-City One. He would lurk around the outskirts of the city in a junkyard and kill two passers-by, before making its way into the city. At some point before his hunt, the Predator began suffering from an unknown sickness. After establishing its base of operations within the dilapidated ruins of New York, the hunter traversed to Mega-City One, where he witnessed local 'Juve' gangs skirmish with each other, before the Street Judges intervened, piquing his curiosity. The hunter would tail three Judges as they were preoccupied with convicting several Juves, before he ambushed them by blowing a hole through Judge Rourke's chest with a blast from his Plasmacaster. Judge Dredd would eventually intervene and fends him off with his 'Lawgiver' handgun, causing him to crash into a nearby warehouse. Dredd tailed him into the complex, where he was ambushed by the hunter and pierced in the shoulder with its unique Combistick. Dredd managed to escape however, but is overpowered by the Predator, before Dredd's backup arrived, causing it to retreat back to his lair and treat his wounds.

After two Skysurfer scavengers inadvertently come across the creature's lair, they informed the Judges, who infiltrated the base, only to find their target long gone. The hunter had instead traversed to one of the city's large shopping complexes, stalking and killing several Judges and taking their badges as trophies.

The Predator returned to his lair, taking Judge Frank Breen as a prisoner. He suddenly experienced visions of a human female - Psi-Judge Schaefer, great-granddaughter to Alan "Dutch" Schaefer. Schaefer had ingested a vial of the creature's blood, and had established a psionic link with him, revealing his location. Sensing the creature's sickness, she clarified to Dredd that the creature may be dying.

Dredd and Schaefer, alongside a unit of heavily armed Judges and 'war droids' reached the ruins of New York, and encountered the hunter atop a dilapidated cathedral. A brutal firefight ensued between the two, and Dredd eventually pursued the Predator after wounding it, accompanied by the war droids. The hunter ambushed them, however, resulting in both war droids destroyed and Dredd engaging in a brutal melee with his adversary.

Death[]

"The only thing our friend here responds to is non-verbal communication. C'mon, you're the one with the gun. You going to use it or not?"

After being riddled with bullets, the hunter tenaciously continued to fight, overpowering Dredd and grabbing hold of his Lawgiver, before Schaefer came between them, trying to establish peaceful contact with the hunter, citing that they could help him. The Predator pushed her aside, however, and fired the Lawgiver, only for its self-destruct failsafe to activate, blowing off his arm. Dredd used the opportunity to tackle the Predator and stab him through the chest. The Predator gave out an ear-splitting roar, before collapsing. As Schaefer and Dredd stood over the creature, Schaefer examined that he was aware of the booby-trap and wanted to die, desiring one final challenge before his death.

Personality and Traits[]

"They take trophies of their kills -- they commit sickening acts -- yet they've been known to ignore defenceless victims. Only the best will do."
"And in Mega-City One, that's us?"
"Yes, and I think it's found its prey.
"
Schaefer and Dredd (from Predator versus Judge Dredd)

The Mega-City One hunter was an insanely tenacious and ambitious Yautja, unsatisfied with setting his sights merely on a single worthy target, or even a select few, but the entirety of Mega-City One's Justice Department. It can be presumed that due to his unknown illness and the likelihood that his time was soon at an end, he had set this ludicrous goal almost as a 'parting-hunt'; knowing full well the impossibility of his task, the hunter supposedly intended to perish as a one-man army, taking out as many worthy targets with him as possible. His wish was eventually granted after yielding against the worthy adversary, Joseph Dredd.

Equipment[]

Though possessing a typical Yautja assortment, the Mega-City One hunter's main weapon of choice was a unique Combistick with a detachable sling underneath its spear tip, similar to that of a Hawaiian sling. He used this unique modification several times to catch and incapacitate his prey as well as a general grappling hook.
