Predator hunter Theta Berwick.

2056. Veteran Yautja hunter Theta Berwick defeated and killed her twenty-fifth Predator in a duel on an alien planet, but displayed nothing more than sheer frustration when she discovered the creature was not her desired target and subsequently retreated after the planet's native species reacted with hostility upon her wearing custom-made Predator armor.

It was revealed that young Theta's parents were killed by a Predator, made distinct after losing his lower left mandible during the skirmish, and she has since dedicated the next 15 years of her life to hunting and killing her family's murderer, building up a repertoire of Predator kills along the way. Following her fourth kill, Theta managed to acquire a red egg-shaped device that she managed to rewire to track Predator hunting routes.

After acquiring another lead at the planet Tusket, Theta's ships gravitational stabilisers malfunction, and she crash lands on the planet's surface. Needing parts to repair her ship, Theta makes a lengthy eleven day hike throughout Tusket's icy terrain to reach Port Medway, before encountering two extra-terrestrial humanoid scavengers, who attempt to kill her for her food and equipment. Theta manages to subdue the two, and seizes their hoverbike. However, she spares the humanoids and provides them with food and medication, before leaving.

Arriving at Medway, she enters the building, coming across the strung up headless corpse of an Astar Industries employee. Taken aback by Predator presence in such cold terrain, she checks security camera footage on a monitor, and notices a Predator carrying an axe that belonged to her, unaware that the latter was approaching her from behind.

Reprint History[]

The six issue series Predator was collected as a trade paperback titled Predator Vol. 1: Day of the hunter that was released on April 18, 2023.

Behind the Scenes[]

Predator is notable as being the first Predator story from Marvel Comics to depict alien species other than the Yautja.

  • Predator is the first comic published in Marvel's Predator comics line.
  • In issue #5, Dr. Paolo Silva said "...there are files that detail encounters with them going back as far as the 1700's." which can either be a reference to the flintlock pistol from 1715 given to Harrigan at the end of Predator 2, or to the 2022 film Prey which took place in 1719.
