Pala Station was a classified Weyland-Yutani research facility located on the surface of LV-895. At the base, Xenomorph bio-materials were tested on living creatures to advance Weyland-Yutani's capabilities. Following a delivery of ovomorphs from Katanga in 2202, Pala Station became overrun, unleashing its mutated experiments onto the planet's surface.
Overview[]
Pala Station was divided into seven Staff sections.
S1 - Manpower[]
Manpower served as the administrative section of Pala Station. In this section, the commanding suites are located.
- Vincent Bellows - Station Commander
- Crowler - Former Station Commander
- Thompson - Former Deputy Station Commander
- Victor Rawlings - Reception Tech
- Brown - Readiness Management
- Nicoli - Personnel Management
- Edmonds - Casualty Operations Specialist
- Cynthia Rodriguez aka SN/TH/YA - Section Chief and central AI
S2 - Security[]
Pala station have a compliment of security forces, some of them are ex-Colonial Marines.
- Captain Randy Flowers - Security Chief / Deputy for Internal Security
- Wincotts - Special security Chief
- Tacker - Security specialist
- Howard - Security specialist
- Reyes - Security specialist
- Flores - Security
- Dutt - Security
- McGann
- Webb
S3 - Engineering[]
The Enginering section in in charge of maintaining the lights and air running, basically maintenance. Also, they control the locks of the doors, which can be locked from that section. The staff there feel important and had a feud with Fabrications.[1] According to Victor Rawlings, this sections was overwhelmed dealing with the effects of the environment and by a rat infestation.
S4 - Logistics[]
- Jameson - Section Chief
- Steven Fairbanks - Logistical specialist
- Fields - Logistical specialist
- Chase - Logistical specialist
S5 - Med-Lab[]
The Med-Lab section is tasked with creating technology for defense against Xenomorphs, and tech the military can actively use to combat any opponent, including of course, Xenomorphs. Another function is to study and determine the nature of the Chemical AO3959X.91-15 and its use in medicine. One of the Lab's achievements is the creation of a protoype acid-resistant armor for the Colonial Marines.[2]
The lab is larger than the rest of tight confines of Pala Station. It consist of a reception room and a central area dubbed "Grand Central", boasting with top-of-the-line equipment. Beyond Grand Central a single corridor with ten-by-ten containment units made of an special glass.[3]
- Dr. Mansfield - Section Chief
- Dr. Mark Cruz - Xenobiologist / Section Chief
- Dr. Mark Prior - Xenobiologist
- Dr. Erin Kash - Epidemiologist
- Ètienne Lacroix - Biologist
- Melbourne Matthews - Chemical Engineer
- Dr. Timothy Hoenikker - Theoretical Archaeologist
- Dr. Erickson
S6 - Communications[]
- Vivian Oshita - Section Chief
- Buggy - Technician
- Brennan - Technician
- Davis - Technician
S7 - Fabrications[]
S7 is in charge of producing everything the station needs to operate. It is reffered by staff personnel by all sorts of names, as: Acquisitions, Infiltrations, Reparations, "Thieverations" and "Mastications". They are constantly fixing things needed in the Medlab or producing a special tungsten-coated glass for containment.[1]
- Robb King - Section Chief
- Tom Ching - Fabrication specialist
- Brian Mantle - Fabrication specialist
- Glover - Fabrication specialist
Quarters[]
Personnel quarters are rooms large enough to accomodate a desk, a chair, a bureau and a narrow bed. The doors had a biometric access panel only accesible for the resident and Security. Bathrooms are communal, only the commander had a private one.[4] The Station also counts on a Mess Hall on the south end. With the exception of central power, all energy is provided by solar cells on the roof and a massive solar array south side of the station, an access to it is located near the mess hall.[5]
History[]
Establishment[]
Pala Station was constructed in LV-895 at unknown time before 2180, with the objective of studying ancient engineer ruins on the planet.[6]
Following the infestation of the Katanga orbital refinery in 2180, the station had also been the site of Xenomorph research, brought there by re-supply ships as the San Lorenzo. It is unknown how often the station received xenomorph specimens as Dr. Kash stated her predecessor only had one and in over a year she had seen two, one of infected 'explorers' and another shipment of adult xenomorphs in cryostasis.[7]
