Captain Paget was a member of the United States Colonial Marine Corps. She was commander of a 31 marine platoon aboard the combat ship Hasdrubal that landed on the planet Tartarus, kick-starting a massive series of events that led to an all out battle for survival against the Yautja species, Xenomorph organisms and the godlike Engineers.

Before the drop

Aboard the flight deck of the Hasdrubal, Captain Paget discusses matters with Weyland-Yutani representative Lorimer. Paget and her crew are investigating LV-797, nicknamed Tartarus, a Weyland-Yutani-purchased planet under suspicion of illegal prospecting by the rival corporation Seegson.

During briefing, Paget introduces her men to Lorimer and goes over the mission with them. She tells them that if any pirates are encountered, they are authorized to resolve the matter peacefully, (specifically warning the foul-mouthed Jhalil and trigger-happy Freebody).

Exploring the planet

Two marine dropships detach from the Hasdrubal and land on Tartarus, with several squads splitting up. Paget's squad is met with a Seegson excavation site and Sergeant Roth's team find a lone survivor named Laurence Goode, who warns the marines that they never should have come to the planet. Paget, Lorimer and Singer suddenly encounter an Engineer derelict ship whilst exploring the terrain. Paget asks Lorimer why they were unable to see the ship from orbit, with Lorimer unsure. Paget suddenly gets the feeling that shes being watched.

Roth later contacts Paget of their encounter of Goode and they regroup at the excavation site. Paget interrogates Goode on what happened, with Goode saying that his crew were slaughtered by an unknown threat. Paget orders Roth's squad to perform searches for any other remaining pirates whilst she discusses with Lorimer their approach with the Engineer derelict. Lorimer argues with Paget about wishing to "acquire" the Engineer vessel, whilst Paget wants to take it slow, knowing that three marines have gone missing for two hours now. Paget later warns Sergeant Roth about the three marines and tells him to be on high-alert.

As the other group of marines become ambushed by numerous Predators, leaving only Rucker alive, two more survivors of the excavation team emerge to and greet Paget - Melville and Captain Humble. Roth's squad manages to drive back the hunters as they regroup with Paget back at the excavation site.

Plan to secure the derelict

Melville explains to the marines that the hunters seem to be treating the ship as an artifact, and that they are protecting it from invaders, wishing to recover it's secrets for themselves. Paget assumes that the Predators slaughtered Melville's crew "just for showing an interest" in the ship. Lorimer encourages Paget to seize the vessel, reminding her of her "legally mandated responsibility" under the company.

Paget decides to send Sergeant Roth and his team into one of their dropships to fly over to the Engineer ship and secure the interior whilst Paget's team approaches the vessel by foot, attempting to sweep the forest using M314 Motion Trackers to flush out the hunters. Paget's squad suddenly become ambushed by a large number of Predators, whilst Roth's squad eventually manages to get inside the interior of the derelict, with Singer managing he can get the ship operational. A deadly and high-ranked Yautja, the Cracked Tusk Predator, orders the all remaining Yautja to retreat to the derelict to stop the marines. They eventually manage to kill Cracked Tusk and get the derelict flying, with Singer intending send it to the nearest USCM facility, Ganymede station. When a marine questions Paget on the hunters, she replies with "they can find some other poor bastards to hunt. We are leaving".

Paget contacting Ganymede station.

With the marines having returned to the Hasdrubal, Paget is seen contacting Ganymede station on the flight deck about their find and warning them of the intensity and importance it holds. Lorimer expresses concern with being unable to contact Roth and his squad inside the now operational derelict, though Paget discloses his claim and says that he simply cares about it's "dollar value". Lorimer replies with how he is mournful of the marines lost but the acquirement of the vessel will surely advance human technologies and improve the quality of human society, Paget sarcastically discloses Lorimer's monologue and attempts to contact the derelict.

It is revealed that Roth and the other marines inside the derelict had awakened a hostile Engineer, and it had taken control of the ship, much to Paget and the rest of the crew's unawareness. The vessel suddenly takes leave to an unknown destination. As Lorimer begins to speak, Paget shuts him up and orders the Hasdrubal to follow the ship.

Arriving at LV-223

For six days the Hasdrubal had followed the derelict until the ship reached the desolate moon LV-223.
