The Otranto was a Weyland-Yutani Corporation colonial transport vessel.
History[]
During a routine voyage, a chemical leak on board the ship forced the human crew to evacuate, leaving behind Hope, a synthetic crewmember. As the ship's systems deteriorated Hope made repairs, waiting for Weyland-Yutani to retrieve the vessel. Hope eventually performs a makeshift repair to the ship's propulsion and attempts to move the ship into a populated area of space, so that it could be detected. A few days later another ship, piloted by a salvager named Macwhirr, docked with the Otranto.[1]
