- "We spent a decade searching for Origae–6. We vetted it, we ran the simulations, we mapped the terrain. It's what we trained for."
- ―Katherine Daniels to Chris Oram (from Alien: Covenant)
Origae–6 was a planet located in Sector ORI-6 D-595. Chosen for colonization by virtue of its breathable atmosphere and workable land, it was the destination of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation colony ship USCSS Covenant, which embarked on an ill–fated attempt to reach it in 2104.
History[]
- "What do you think it's going to be like?"
- ―Daniels discussing Origae–6 with a disguised David (from Alien: Covenant)

Origae–6 was the destination of the colony ship USCSS Covenant.
Origae–6 was a planet[5] located in Sector ORI-6 D-595.[1] As of 2104, it was earmarked for human settlement by the newly–formed United Americas[4] and was the intended destination of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation colony ship USCSS Covenant. Discovered and exhaustively researched by a team including terraformist Katherine Daniels,[3] Origae–6 was found to possess near–Earth–standard gravity, land with dirt capable of producing plowable soil for farming and refinable ore for mining, a breathable atmosphere, and surface water including oceans[2] and a lake. The latter feature was located in the terraforming zone designated for the establishment of the Covenant colony; after the death of her husband and ship's captain Jake Branson during the voyage, Daniels confided to ship's synthetic Walter that Branson had planned to construct a cabin on its shoreline.[3]
The Covenant was later hijacked by the rogue synthetic David after the ship was diverted to the world dubbed Planet 4. Replacing Walter and impersonating him, David sent a message to Weyland–Yutani informing the Company that the Covenant was keeping on its original course to Origae–6[3] while intending to use the ship's complement of colonists and remaining crew in his experiments.[6] Between 2110 and 2112, a period of time in which the Far Spinward Colonies were lost and the 20 Parsec Limit was established, the expedition to Origae–6 was declared overdue, and Origae–6 itself was isolated from government and corporate support.[4] As of 2142, the Weyland–Yutani research station Renaissance featured billboards advertising Origae–6.[7]
Origae–6 shared a name with the star Origae B[8] which, like its namesake,[4] was located Trailward from Earth.[8]
Behind the scenes[]
Origae–6 was first mentioned in Alien: Covenant x Audi lunar quattro, a short released to promote the 2017 film Alien: Covenant,[9] and later appeared on a display screen in the film itself.[3] Alien: The Roleplaying Game mistakenly places Origae–6 in Sector 87,[5] which is in fact the location of Planet 4.[3]
