Nathan Bennetts-Riley was a miner on the Union of Progressive Peoples mining planet Shānmén.
Biography[]
Nathan was a member of the Knot and the nephew of group founder Toru McLintock-Riley. He had connections in the Black Market on Pylos station[1] and on Shānmén[2].
Events on Shānmén[]
As indentured workers under the Jùtóu Combine, Nathan and other members of the Knot were assigned to work at the Svarog Mine, deep drilling for Eitr. During this time, Toru discovered a complex of Engineer ruins beneath the mine during an abortive attempt to repair a malfunctioning shotcrete robot.[3]
Nathan and Aoki Sayō became lovers shortly after his arrival at the mine. [4]
Nathan was sent by Toru into the city of New Luhansk to broker a deal with The Brotherhood to sell them the information on the alien ruins in the mine. [5] While in the city he witnessed the pathogen attack on the planet by a Juggernaut (class) spacecraft. He escaped an attack by a neomorph and managed to alert Toru of the attack as he raced back to the mine. He was caught outside of the mine’s closed security gate with a number of security guards where he died in an attack by a group of neomorphs.[6]
Personality and Traits[]
Nathan was a good looking young man with dark hair worn in a sculpted wave. Nathan paid particular attention the way he dressed and the way he spoke. On Pylos, he’d traded for a handful of Combine training tapes. If he were ever to escape indentured work and climb the corporate ladder, he knew he would need to play the part.[2]
