Sean Morton Downey (December 9, 1932[1] – March 12, 2001),[2] known professionally as Morton Downey, Jr., was an American singer, songwriter and television talk show host who played Pope in the 1990 film Predator 2.
In 1996, Downey was diagnosed with lung cancer and had one of his lungs removed. He did a complete about-face on the issue of tobacco use, going from a one-time member of the National Smokers Alliance to a staunch anti-smoking activist.[3] He died on March 12, 2001.[2]
