The Model 439SL Class 7 Excavator Vessel was a type of skycrane skiff manufactured by Lock-Mart Industries.
Overview[]
A type of skycrane skiff built by Lock-Mart Industries, the Model 439SL Class 7 Excavator Vessel was 40 meters in length and based around a forward cabin section and aft thruster array connected by a dorsal spine. It was equipped to carry either a pair of large cargo containers or two Daihotai Tractors, and toted an integrated heavy mining drill; the latter could be used for prospecting purposes if the vessel's forward section were positioned over a work site. The Excavator's crew complement could range from two to twenty–four individuals, and it was capable of reaching a speed of Mach 2 in atmospheric conditions.
History[]
One Model 439SL Class 7 Excavator Vessel, the Onager, was assigned to the terraforming colony Hadley's Hope on the Frontier moon LV-426. During a Xenomorph outbreak at the colony on July 3rd, 2179, the Onager was commandeered by a group of survivors in a bid to escape the incident. The vessel crashed on the nearby moon LV-223 shortly after and was abandoned after its occupants were killed by more Xenomorphs; the creatures established a Hive within the Onager afterward. In 2219, the wreck was used by a group of survivors from the Weyland-Yutani Corporation vessel Geryon.
As of 2186, the Model 439SL Class 7 Excavator Vessel was used for exploration and salvage jobs in high–pressure environments, and carried a price tag of 2,000,000 United American dollars.
