Mina Osterman was a colonist at the Hadley's Hope colony on Acheron. An architect, she was drafted in to replace Borstein, who had been transferred to a colony being developed by Weyland-Yutani in another sector. While at the colony, Osterman caught the attention of colonial administrator Alan Simpson who, one night, became overly friendly and flirted with her, which created a rift between the two. On the morning of 21 June 2179, two months after Osterman had been transferred to Hadley's Hope, she briefly encountered Simpson in the operations center; noticing his attention on her, she rolled her eyes and returned to her work.[1]
Personality and traits[]
Osterman had ginger hair and dark eyes, and possessed a relaxed nature that made others around her feel at ease.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
Mina Osterman first appeared in Alien: River of Pain, which was written by Christopher Golden and released in 2014.[1] Osterman also appeared in the 2017 audio adaptation of the novel; in this version, she informs Simpson of various issues at the colony, including a jammed mechanism in the colony's transmitter array and an incident in the livestock pen.[2]
