Michael Fassbender (born April 2, 1977) is an Academy Award-nominated German-Irish actor who played David in the 2012 film Prometheus and its sequel Alien: Covenant (2017), as well as the 2012 short films Happy Birthday, David and Prometheus Transmission, and the 2017 short films The Crossing and Advent. He also played Walter in Alien: Covenant, as well as the 2017 short films The Last Supper, Meet Walter and Phobos. Other notable films Fassbender has appeared in include 300 (2006), Inglorious Basterds (2009), X-Men: First Class (2011), 12 Years a Slave (2013) and Steve Jobs (2015).

Fassbender has been nominated for a Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (for 12 Years a Slave), as well as two Golden Globes and three BAFTAs. For his role in Prometheus, he was nominated for a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor.
