Maeko Hayes was a deputy administrator of Pioneer Station for the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. Hayes later joined up with the crew of the United States Colonial Marine Corps vessel USS Otago.

Maeko Hayes was level–headed and took threats seriously, going so far as to initiate the Cerberus Protocol to contain the alien threat. While this was a correct course of action to take, Hayes nonetheless expressed guilt over doing so.
