The Armat Battlefield Systems M38 High Explosive Armor Pïercing (HEAP) Grenade (also known simply as the M38) is a type of high explosive armor-piercing grenade predominantly employed by the United States Colonial Marine Corps.[1]
Overview[]
The M38 is primarily designed to be fired from the U1 Grenade Launcher. The cartridge consists of two main sections — a rimmed, separating base and a metal casing topped with a green plastic identifying cap. When fired from a U1, the grenade is capable of penetrating 7cm of homogeneous steel[1] and is strong enough to pierce the armor of a Xenomorph Queen.[2] The projectile bursts with a casualty radius of 5m upon detonation.[1]
