- ―Overview of the M37A3 Pump Shotgun (from Aliens: Fireteam Elite)
The M37A3 Pump Shotgun was a pump–action shotgun manufactured by Armat Battlefield Systems and the successor to the M37A2 Pump Shotgun. The M37A3 was a weapon of choice for the United States Colonial Marine Corps and the Office of the Colonial Marshals.
Development[]
After taking note of a number of United States Colonial Marine Corps members bringing their personal shotguns into active service, Armat Battlefield Systems decided to militarize one of their hunting shotguns still exclusive to the civilian market, the Model 80 "Seriema". The combat shotgun and its civilian model were "inspired" by early 20th century shotgun designs.[1]
Overview[]
The M37A3 was of simple design and, as such, was reliable and handy, making it a deadly ally in close–quarters combat.[1]
Notable users[]
Originally released in 2158 for the civilian market, the M37A3 shotgun saw extensive informal use with the Colonial Marines before being officially adopted. It was also used by the United Americas' national services, Colonial Marshals, colonial militias, and private military contractors.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The M37A3 Pump Shotgun appears in Aliens: Fireteam Elite and is the default close–quarters weapon for the Gunner, Technician, Phalanx, Recon, and Lancer classes.
