- "There we were on the Kael line in our M22 dinosaurs, and in the unit next door the Army guys were bitching about the missile detection/interception systems, the jamming and decoy systems and the 3D tactical suites in their M40s. We had nothing like they had, and what we had was old and kept breaking down. They had tanks so stealthy they were invisible from nine paces; our stealth was a decade out of date. With all the Third World-supplied detection gear the B-boys were packing in the Trobriands and around Parrot's Beak, they could see us coming a continent away."
- ―Staff Sgt. Robin Miskolczy, 3rd Colonial Marine Tank Battalion, Linna 349 (from Aliens: Colonial Marines Technical Manual)
The M22 Jackson Medium Tank, also known as the Jackson or Dinosaur, was a medium tank used by the United States Colonial Marine Corps.
Development and overview[]
The M22 Jackson Medium Tank was built in the 2080s and was still in use a century later, though the arrival of the new cutting-edge M40 Ridgeway Heavy Tank phased out the Jackson, and the older tank was progressively abandoned by the United States Colonial Marine Corps and the Canadian Air Force. However, the Jackson remained in use with colonial militias and mercenaries. The Jackson was equipped with a 85mm rifled cannon and a 20mm Gatling gun;[1] despite its firepower, the tank was notorious for breaking down often, and was unsuitable for stealth operations as even Third World detection gear could locate it.[2]
History[]

The M22 known as "Killer Clown"
The M22A3 Jackson was used during the 2174-2175 Linna 349 Campaign where its shortcomings became apparent, especially compared to the Ridgeway. One M22 Jackson from the 1st Brigade of the 3rd Colonial Marines Tank Battalion, nicknamed "Killer Clown", distinguished itself during the campaign by destroying four vehicles during patrols in the Trobriands.[4]
The extremist group known as the Children of the Two Divines possessed at least one M22A3; this tank was stationed at the cult's compound on the Grandhi Moon.[5]
