- "Another M12 brought unto UAMC service, the A1 is smaller, and fire rockets designed to maximize anti-personnel damage over a large area without compromising the internal structure of hardened surfaces."
- ―M12A1 Rocket Launcher description (from Aliens: Fireteam Elite)
The Armat Battlefield Systems M12A1 Rocket Launcher was an anti-infantry variant of the M12 RPG Launcher. It was notably employed by the United States Colonial Marine Corps and the Fuerzas Territoriales de México during the late 22nd century.
Development[]
Smaller than its predecessor, the M12A1 was developed at the request of Mexico for use against anti-corporate and anti-unification insurgents from neighboring nations. The launcher was designed to fire rockets that covered a large area to maximize anti-personnel damage without compromising the internal structures of hardened surfaces.[1]
Overview[]
The M12A1 fired unguided explosive fragmentation rockets that scattered shrapnel on impact. In opposition to its predecessor, which was poor against infantry, the M12A1 was somewhat ineffective against armored targets.[1]
Notable users[]
Originally released in 2185 for the Fuerzas Territoriales de México, the M12A1 was duly accepted for Colonial Marine service after its predecessor. The launcher was also used by the United Americas' national services and special forces units.[1]
Behind the scenes[]
The M12A1 Rocket Launcher appears in Aliens: Fireteam Elite and can be acquired from Staff Sergeant Han-jae Park for 4800 Requisition Points. It can be equipped by Demolisher and Lancer classes.[1]
