LV–895 was the moon of a gas giant orbiting the star HIP53020 in the Tartarus Sector of the Outer Rim Territories. In 2202, LV–895 was the site of a major incident.

History[]

At some point, the ancient race known as the Engineers settled the planet and built several installations with geostabilizers to protect them from the planet's frequent earthquakes. The Engineers later disappeared without a trace, leaving their ruins and a ship behind. Years after this, the Weyland-Yutani Corporation discovered the planet and established the permanent research base Pala Station and the clandestine Site Two at the Juggernaut site. The science team stationed on the planet conducted experiments with native lifeforms and the Engineer pathogen. In 2202, the planet was overrun by Xenomorphs due to a containment breach and was later reclaimed by the UAS Endeavor Marines.[1]

Climate and terrain[]

LV-895's atmosphere was breathable for humans. The moon's subterranean regions also possessed an extensive network of underground caves. When at the perigee of its gas giant, LV-895 suffered from twelve-minute earthquakes due to the resultant gravitational pull.[1]

Flora and fauna[]

LV-895's surface featured jungles and valleys. The Leon-895, a cat with chameleon-like camouflage abilities, was native to the moon. Xenomorphs and pathogen-created monsters were accidentally released on the planet after an outbreak at Pala Station.[1]
