Biography[]
Career in the Colonial Marines[]
Kylie Penelope Duncan was a member of the United States Colonial Marine Corps. During her service, she and a best friend, Addison, were involved in an operation on a farming planet. Addison was mortally injured; while waiting for rescue, Duncan determined herself to be under divine protection.[1]
Incident on LV-991[]
As of 2184, Duncan was a commanding officer in the Midnighters, an elite team of Marines dedicated to hunting and killing Xenomorphs. She and the unit were called to the Independent Core System Colonies world of LV-991 by a distress call sent from the Iranian National Data Corporation's Charybdis complex on the planet. Upon landing near the facility, the Midnighters located a Seegson vessel known as the UAEV Blackstar; Duncan ordered the unit to capture the Xenomorphs within, including former Weyland-Yutani Corporation researcher Blue Marsalis, who had turned herself into a Xenomorph using a mysterious alien pathogen. With the creatures at the Midnighters' mercy, Duncan corraled the base's workforce into emergency shelters and forced the visiting members of the civilian contractor firm McAllen Integrations to implement an automated procedure. This would unleash the Xenomorphs on the Charybdis workforce, with Duncan intending for the creatures to establish a Hive and for the Colonial Marines to expunge the infestation, thus securing LV-991 for the United Americas. When McAllen technician Cheyenne Hunt voiced her objections, Duncan shot her dead. One Marine, Lance Corporal Russell Becker, turned on Duncan and aided the McAllen survivors in escaping the base; Duncan hunted Becker in one of the Midnighters' dropships, cornered him atop the facility's central Data Cannon assembly, and killed him. Duncan's subordinate, Sergeant Hubert Lee, lost control of the craft and crashed it; both survived the impact.[1]
Pursuing Marsalis[]
The situation was complicated when the Midnighters' escort, Weyland-Yutani science officer Dr. Sora Matsushita, insisted that Marsalis, who had been released from captivity by McAllen's synthetic Marcus, be captured, as she was a high-value target. Duncan and the Midnighters accompanied Matsushita into the Xenomorph Hive, which had been established in a nearby cave by the creatures; during the resulting battle, Duncan executed Matsushita and cornered several survivors, including Marsalis. She was attacked by Charybdis workers Kamran Afghanzadeh and Haroun Sharif, and wound up submerged in a pool of mutagenic pathogen. As she emerged from the liquid, Duncan's body dissolved, with her remaining biomass being turned into amniotic sacs containing Xenomorph-like creatures.[1]
Posthumous charges[]
Duncan was later found guilty of war crimes at the Hague.[2]
