Keystone was a planet orbiting the star GJ1128 in Three World Empire space in the Outer Veil.
History[]
Keystone served as an exploratory base camp for the Central Space Consortium in the organization's formative years. Despite this status, Keystone was not terraformed owing to the abundance of unstable asteroids surrounding the planet. As the planet bore scars from several previous impacts, it was reasoned that another was inevitable. Mining efforts on Keystone uncovered a modicum of material, though none of that material was worth shipping offworld, and the requisite facilities were abandoned. Over time, Keystone's population shrank from 500,000 to 20,000 as exploration of other worlds continued.
Eventually, the mid–sized Antioch corporation considered applying for the rights to Keystone's system with a view to protecting the planet from any future asteroid strikes and re–establishing its mining facilities. As of 2183, Keystone was located in Three World Empire space.
