Jay Benedict (born April 11, 1951) is an American actor and voice artist who played "Newt's Father" (Russ Jorden) in the extended Special Edition of Aliens. Other notable films Benedict has appeared in include Victor/Victoria (1982), The Russia House (1990), Double Team (1997), Saving Grace (2000), Page Eight (2011), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Aside from his work in film, Benedict has had an extensive career in both television and theater. He is perhaps best-known for his role as Major John Kieffer in the crime drama series Foyle's War (2006-2008).
