Jamie S. Rich is an American comic book editor and writer who has edited several comic books in Dark Horse Comics' Aliens and Predator lines.
Biography[]
Rich started out as a Dark Horse fan and frequent letter-writer to Dark Horse comics letters to the editor pages while studying English at college, eventually finding work in the company's editorial department.
Working as an editor at Dark Horse from 1994 and 1998, Rich worked at some point on numerous titles for the company including Red Rocket 7 by Mike Allred and Usagi Yojimbo: Grasscutter by Stan Sakai.
He has also worked as a freelance editor on Allred's The Atomics, and on Brian Michael Bendis & Michael Avon Oeming's popular series Powers, for Image and Marvel Comics.
Rich became an editor for indie comics company Oni Press in mid-1998, five months into its publishing history. He became editor in chief in April 1999, serving in that role until 2004. Virtually all Oni titles from that period bear Rich's stamp in one way or another.
As an editor, Rich has received two Harvey Awards for editing the best anthology of the year, for Dark Horse Presents in 1997 and Oni Double Feature in 1998. He was also a nominee in the Comic Book Buyer’s Guide 2004 fan poll for best editor, as well, rare for an editor at an independent company.
Currently, Rich also works on various comics and other writing projects.
